Marry Me on Market consists of the Unity Ceremonies of 36 people to myself on January 15, 2012 in front of San Francisco City Hall. The 36 participants were composed of willing men, women, couples, dogs, and a panda. A Unity Ceremony signifies two or more beings becoming one in modern western weddings. With conducting this ceremony I am not aiming to make any political statements or talk about the gentrification of Market Street. I aim to talk about human connection. Participants were sent our photo, at 3.5 x 5 inches, to mark the occasion. This record serves as a memento, one to help them remember a feeling of connection, real and falsified. To remind them that they are not alone.
